What Are Veneers Made Of

One of the most popular and widely used dental solutions is a veneer. Most dentists recommend veneers to their patients who have problems such as cracked tooth, chipped tooth, gaps and discoloration. However, not many people know what veneers are really made of.

As you know, veneers are those that are placed over a tooth to improve its look. Sometimes, veneers are placed to protect the surface of the teeth from further damage. Veneers are usually made of two main types of material called dental porcelain and composite.

Composite veneers and porcelain veneers differ greatly especially when it comes to their fabrication. Composite veneers are either directly or indirectly placed. This kind of veneer can be fabricated by a dental technician and then bonded to the tooth using resin cement. Porcelain veneers, on the other hand, can only be indirectly fabricated.
