How Bouncy Castles Came About
The use of bouncy castles is gaining popularity these days. This is considered a fun and education playing equipment parents can give to their children.
Facts About Bouncy Castles
There is still an ongoing disagreement between England and the U.S. about who really invented the first bouncy castle. In 1959, John Scurlock of Shreveport, Louisiana experimented with inflatable covers for tennis court. He actually noticed his employees jumping on the covers. Apart from that, he is likewise experimenting on inflatable solutions for swimming pools and other enclosures. He decided to create a kid’s amusement bouncer and began to establish the first inflatable moonwalk business, Space Walk. During that time, the devices were called Moon Walks. After that, he started to create large air mattresses.
“Space Pillow” is the term used to describe the first inflatable – this was an open top mattress without sides. A pressurized inflatable top was added in 1967. In 1974, columns were already added in order to release the heat created by the fans which inflated the space pillow and top. The very first bounce houses shaped like characters started to appear in the late 1970s.
On the other hand, it was said that the bouncy castle was designed by university students in England around 1861 for a fundraising event. Experts highly emphasized that both claims have credibility.

How The Bicycle Came About
Over the years, bicycle riding became popular. Indeed, it is proven to be among the best exercise for the body. Now, cycling became one of the 3 disciplines in triathlon. But did you know how the bicycle was invented?
The Invention Of Bicycle
In 1645, the very first quadricycle which was made of wood was developed by Jean Thèson. But then, it was very heavy and difficult to drive. Thus, in 1790, the wheels were reduced to 2, making it less heavy.
In 1870, a new type of bicycle gained popularity – this was named as the highwheeler. It has a big front wheel with a small rear wheel.
It was only in 1885 that bicycles with wheels of equal size were invented. And in 1890, tires were already filled with air in order to give them more speed. During the same time, adjustable handle bars along with pedal brakes were also incorporated. This type of bicycle became very popular during 1800s and early 1900s.
Today, even with the invention of cars, the use of bicycle is still highly recommended in some countries. In fact, most cities all around the world have provided special lanes for cyclists on roads and in parks.
