leading building and pest inspection experts in Brisbane
When you are interested to purchase a pre-owned property, there are certain parts or areas inside it that you need inspect or have professionally evaluated before investing in it. One of these important parts includes the ceiling.

The Usual Interior Ceiling Finish Problems

Below are the usual types of interior ceiling finish problems that you have to look for when you want to buy a pre-owned property:

Water damage. This is one of the most common problems on interior finishes of ceilings. The usual water sources that show up as ceiling leaks or leak stains include roof and flashing leaks, ice damming, condensation, window and skylight leaks, leaks from hot water heating  and plumbing systems. These damages, or stains, may also result from room humidifiers or dehumidifiers, and other sources of high interior water or moisture levels.

Moulds.
A large reservoir of contiguous indoor moulds on the ceiling is a clear sign of a health hazard for building occupants. Small mouldy areas however may be of no significant health concern. They can be easily cleaned or removed by a handyman or even the property owners themselves.

Roof truss uplift. Nail pops are usually found in some building ceilings and actual tears or cracks at the wall or ceiling juncture at building walls found under the centre of certain roof trusses. This is due to the moisture and temperature differences between the truss bottom chord and upper members and they cause the truss to arch.
