Getting To Know One Of The Famous Landscape Photographers

http://readtriviaonline.blogspot.com/

It is more complex to tell a story through a landscape photograph. With humans, emotions can be displayed though the eyes and facial expression, which is not possible with a still subject such as a landscape. And so, in order to convey a complete story and message through still subjects, the photographer needs creativity and great amount of out of the box thinking.

Ansel Adams is the most famous name in landscape and nature photography. Adams was aspiring to become a pianist but after a visit to Yosemite National Park, he became interested in capturing the beauty of nature using his camera. Aside from being a great photographer, Adams is also fond of developing new techniques in photography. Together with his friend Fred Archer, a fellow photographer, they developed the zone system which is used to identify correct exposure and contrast levels.

Adam’s works are mostly in black and white. It was during the later stages of his career that he started experimenting with color. In 1927, he captured one of his most famous images, the ‘Monolith, the Face of Half Dome.’ Other notable works in landscape genre include Aspens, Clearing Winter Storm, Winter Sunrise, Moonrise, Moon and Half Dome and many others.

Adams won several awards and fellowships in his more than five decades long career as well as posthumously. Among these are Presidential Medal of Freedom, Sierra Club John Muir Award, Hasselblad Award, and Doctorate of Arts from Yale and Harvard Universities.
