Before formal settling has been introduced to mankind, building roads and pavements were not really an issue. And then came the introduction of wheels and better trade practices which required frequent traveling. As the loads needed for these activities get heavier, the need for a better road system also came into focus. This prompted the early civilization to work on common roads to answer problems about muddy paths and such.

Now, paving are also done for commercial establishments, homes, schools, churches, or anywhere that has available space. From being “functional,” the use of paved ways became aesthetic in nature, too. Now, it can be used to make a very large space look small and cozy, or make a small patio look like a castle courtyard.
There are a lot of paving materials to choose from: natural stones, clay, concrete, pre-cast concrete, flagstones, cast stones, or liquid limestone, all of which has their own uses and appeal. There are also different patterns that can be used, depending on how you want your pavements to look like. Common paving patterns include parquet, brick bond, herringbone, running bond, and many more. Colorful pavers are also available in the market to fit the design you want to do. We also have the option to do it ourselves or have someone else, a professional, most probably, to do it for us. Either way, paving has come a really long way.
