The call centre sector is one of the biggest industries in the world. Various call centres exist for different reasons or purposes. Some are used for telemarketing to find new customers. Others exist for the function of providing tech support or handle customer complaints.

However, no matter what a call centre's purpose is or function is, all call centres need to be fitted with some basic equipment.

Equipment Used In Call Centres


Below are the usual types of equipment used and seen in call centres:

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) is a system where telephone calls can be made through the Internet instead of a traditional phone line. Call centers usually use this technology for easier call monitoring and recording.

Predictive dialer.
This is a type of computer program that dials a batch of telephone numbers automatically. This technology is used in call centers for assigning several customers to agents.

Data handler. 
This technology is a system that organizes and stores data. The data is stored in different classes and can be accessed at any time through a server access interface.

Headset.
A headset is a microphone and listening device for call center employees. The headset is used instead of a traditional phone receiver for comfort and convenience.
