The Meaning Behind Some Commonly Used Property Jargons

trusted property investment advisors
The real estate industry is in a league of its own when it comes to selling jargons that you would often see on various agents’ advertisements. If you are a real estate agent, you would have no problems getting the meaning behind such jargons. As a potential buyer or investor, you may have a hard time understanding what the real estate agent wants to say when he or she uses such jargons.

Below are some of the most commonly used real estate or property jargons and the messages they want convey:

North-facing property. This type of property is a jargon for a piece of land that has a backyard that is south-facing and never gets any sun.

Renovator’s delight. A renovator’s delight is a property that serious property investors would never find delightful. It is structurally shot and its target users are not people looking for a home to buy and live in but actually serious or professional property renovators.

European-style laundry. Real estate agents say that this jargon is also quite a misnomer. It actually means that the washing machine is hidden away in a cupboard.  This is a dream to most Europeans since in Europe, a true European-style laundry isn’t a laundry at all; it is a washing machine in the kitchen.

Close to transport.
Property investors have to be quite wary with this jargon. It can mean that the property is just a short walk away from the train station. Or it can be so close to the railroad tracks or beside a busy main road that you just have to take 10 steps and you’re on the public transport of your choice.
